This utilizes a variety of techniques to access and provide relief and realign deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. When there is chronic muscle tension or injury it creates adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) in muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Adhesions can block circulation and cause pain, limited movement, and inflammation. Deep Tissue massage works by physically breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and restore movement. Deep Tissue may balance on the pleasure/pain threshold, but should not cause pain to the client. $10 add on to a 60 or 90 minute massage.
Swedish Massage combines various hands-on techniques including gliding, kneading, and cross-fiber friction to break up muscle knots, called adhesions. This manual therapy uses massage oils, long strokes, and some focused work to create a deeply relaxing experience. Swedish massage increases circulation in the body, and is great for releasing lactic acid in the body. It is based on the Western concepts of anatomy and physiology as opposed to energy work. One of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. 60 or 90 minutes.
Shiatsu is an ancient Japanese technique that is like acupuncture, but uses finger pressure instead of needles to help restore energy flow through the body. Shiatsu Therapists essentially follow the meridian lines using finger pressure and palm pressure to improve the flow of energy to provide relaxation. Shiatsu is a balancing technique that leaves you feeling harmoniously relaxed. It is traditionally preformed on floor mats with the client in loose fitting clothes. Preferably 90 minutes.
Myofascial Release is the is the process of releasing connective tissue that is found through the entire body with soft movement. This telegraphy can help relax tight muscles, improve blood flow and help with circulation. It is great for conditions that have been with your for a long time. 60 or 90 minutes.
CranioSacral Therapy is subtle light touch massage that is extremely relaxing and very good in releasing the body of deep held stress at a subtle level. This type of massage also optimizes the circulation through the CranioSacral system which improves the function of all body systems. On a cellular level, our bodies remember past injuries and traumas to the body which can result in tension, pain, etc. CranioSacral Therapy helps to release these traumas that our bodies are still holding onto, via very gentle, yet profound techniques. CranioSacral Therapy was developed by John Upledger, and the techniques from his introductory course are used in this fully clothed session. 60 or 90 minutes.
Reflexologists believe that there are “reflex” areas on the feet and hands that correspond to specific organs, glands, and other parts of the body. By applying pressure to these reflex areas it can promote health in the corresponding organs through energetic pathways, provide relaxation and may be an effective way to alleviate stress. Here is your chance to enjoy a full hour session on the feet! Reflexology is known for being deeply relaxing and balancing. 60 minutes.
